I can tell how they were apparently such an influence on Pavement, not only musically but in the mannerisms. The lead singer is some strange Bob Dylan-Stephen Malkmus-Napoleon Dynamite composite. Forget Weezer, these guys were the original geek-empowerment band. The quintessential goodwill-shopping, Star trek wathcing, sarcasticly genius, underground front-wave band. Yo la tengo cites them as a major influence as well.
