Seriously, did Parker just roll out of bed the other day and go, "Hmm, I've been doing a comic strip about 2 wizards in a bar for 37 years, I'm all out of ideas... I know! I'll shoot down a legitimate form of art in an unfunny way".

I actually don't even really get it. The joke comes across very vaguely, but the slight is very noticable. How did this get printed in a nationally syndicated family publication?
