Sloan's 8th album is a masterpiece. I've listened to it about every 3 hours since I got it in the mail yesterday. I can't get over the fact that it's structured the way I always thought the ideal album should be; lots of short-&-sweet rockers segueing into eachother interspersed with classic 3 minuters, and some epic stuff near the end. It's great to see a talented band make uber-creative cutting edge 60's/70's garage rock. There's also alot of 80's rock influence in this one. And of course its good to see Andrew making a large contribution to the album, which their last album lacked.
Here's one song from each of the boys
Blackout Andrew
Can't you figure it out Jay
Ill placed trust Patrick
It's not the end of the world Chris
And if Michel Gondry, whom I am in awe of, taught a film school, I would do whatever it took to attend.
