For years I passed up The Cardigan's album "Gran Turismo" because the cover looked like a cheesy cgi movie or playstation game. But after Jonathan played it for me last weekend, I had to find myself a copy. It's quite a dark album coming from them, but still just as creative and with amazing vocals as usual.
Jonathan also wowed me with Zwan's only album "Mary Star of the Sea". Also, I must admit to steering away from this for years for no real good reason. But talk about amazing! This one of the most rockinest albums made in the last ten years, and it has a great message. Appearently Corgan went through a lot of positive changes in his life after the Pumpkins. He sings a lot about faith and Jesus and all of that, but mainly just about how strange but great life can be. There's just such a bright feel to this band's music.
House of records provided me with a used copy of "In Colour", the newest Concretes album. Wow, what a summer album! These 8 kids from Sweden perfected the art of 60's pop. It's just as good if not better than anything that was around in the 60's. And most of the songs are really different from eachother. They've always done that, but this time they put together an album for the ages. Hopefully soon they can resume thier American tour.

Here's the last track on "In Colour".
It's kind of Mates of states-y, eh?
